Growing up in an endemic country doesn’t give you immunity unless you were vaccinated as a child. Some people do develop natural immunity after a TBE infection, but you’d be very unlikely to know about it without specific blood tests. If you regularly return to rural areas of your home country — visiting family, spending time outdoors, attending gatherings in the countryside — vaccination is recommended regardless of your background.
