The NHS only tests people with Zika symptoms who’ve recently travelled to affected areas. If you’re asymptomatic (no symptoms) – even if you’re pregnant or planning pregnancy – you can’t get NHS testing. The NHS recommends waiting the full 3-month period rather than paying for private testing. Most people planning pregnancy choose private testing at £200 to avoid unnecessary waiting.
